The game already has an impressive amount of excitement behind it, so reaching even more potential players once it’s finished will only work in its favor. It’s good to see “We Happy Few” making its way to another platform. Players must guide the three Downers in their pursuit of the truth behind this dystopia, avoiding, escaping or fighting back against their captors throughout. The pills block out trauma from each citizen’s pasts and disguise the dark city around them in a cheery, psychedelic filter, hiding the true state of the world. Set in an alternate version of 1960’s London, “We Happy Few” follows three separate Downers, citizens who have refused to take government mandated pills. The game also received a new trailer which can be viewed below: The game is also available for pre-order in a collector’s edition which includes a replica Bobby mask, the “You Look Smashing” three tiered lamp, the Uncle Jack Alarm Clock and the game’s soundtrack on vinyl for $149.99.

In a post made to the Playstation Blog August 16, Gearbox Software Community Coordinator Meredith Hershey announced the company had partnered with developer Compulsion Games to bring “We Happy Few” to the Playstation 4 on April 13, 2018. Compulsion Games has partnered with Gearbox Publishing to launch We Happy Few on April 13, 2018. We Happy Few is set to come out this Summer for PC, XB1, and PS4, and the developers will keep releasing regular updates until its release.The dystopian survival game will now be coming to Playstation 4 in addition to Xbox One and PC. The title features a full-length story campaign with three different characters. And judging from the few clips we see, her journey may indeed somehow end up being a tad more insane, even for a world where drugs are mandatory. The promising title We Happy Few from Compulsion Games announced back in early 2015 will release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 13th 2018 and also at retail (with a Collector's Set available too) thanks to a partnership with Gearbox Publishing.
As such, Arthur’s initial story and the game’s first few areas have been reworked, as detailed in the update video below, but this will result in the twisted psychedelic survival game being delayed from April to Summer 2018.Īs a bit of a consolation prize, though, the video also gives us a peek at one of the game’s other playable characters from later on in the story, Sally. And in doing so, the team has taken a look at everything so far, and felt that the initial few hours needed to be improved in order to match the rest of the game. We Happy Few has received a few mixed reactions ever since its release in Early Access, but developers Compulsion Games have been trying to iron out the kinks as best as they can.
